The new Guest Role is perfect for involving contractors, clients, and colleagues from other departments for free. This is the second role for users who will not be included in your Premium Plan invoices, just like the Read-Only role.
Guests can add comments, upload, and download files.
Adding guests is easy.
1 – Select ‘Guest’ profile
2 – Name your team
3 – Add a newly created team to allow it to access all or some applications inside a project
Start your next project in two minutes
Freedcamp is free for unlimited projects, tasks and users. No credit card, no trial clock.

Can we get it so that guests, or some other non-paid role can check off tasks as completed? I don’t need every team member to be able to edit anything other than completed status on tasks but I am having difficulties getting our management team to puchase full licenses for just clicking complete on tasks.
Hi Derek,
Please post it on https://freedcamp.uservoice.com as at this stage we only consider allowing Guests to create new issues in Issue Tracker and edit those they authored.
Please clarify: “Guests can add comments, upload, and download files.”
Does this mean they can do all that within a specific task they were assigned to follow?
Hi Ivan,
Guests cannot be assigned to tasks and, as a result, they can not do anything with tasks. Literally, they can only “add comments, upload, and download files”. The only thing we did to make Business Plan more affordable – we added extra permissions for Guests in Issue Tracker application – https://blog.freedcamp.com/2018/02/13/business-plan-just-got-affordable/
To be able to assign tasks to users with the lowest permission access please user ‘User’ profile. We create a default team called ‘Contributors’ https://freedcamp.com/profiles/help. Such users can create own tasks and do any actions on those but cannot edit tasks they personally did not create. In tasks other users created assigned to them they can only change progress status (from Not Started to Completed)
I feel like for this to be a complete solution the guest needs to be able to be assigned to tasks and mark them as completed.
It is ‘User’ permission. Default team name ‘Contributor’ https://freedcamp.com/profiles/help
